Whenever I come back into Iquitos I´m always stunned by how different even this small town is in comparison. The jungle may be just as noisy, but they are the sounds of nature. Everything here sounds harsh and artificial in comparison. You realise how much noise pollution can affect you.
Living in the jungle is like walking through a dream.
Looking at the multitude of stars in a clear sky, free of pollution and being able to see the milky way winding across the heavens.
You forget all about the things in life we are told are necessary to live. The focus is on the essentials. The focus is on simply living. The more possessions you own, the harder it is to get around.
These are all just words. None can really do justice to the sensations, the experience of being in direct contact with the other.
It is a beautiful, dangerous, ever-changing world we all live in and we should pay more attention to what is going on around us.
